Our ITEC events are known by you to be your regional IT event. Instead of the old fashioned huge trade show experience, these events are smaller, and as such, give you the opportunity to see everything, meet people that you might want to meet, and learn about new products and services without a lot of travel and frustration. But ITEC only comes to your neighborhood once a year, and yet, we here at CrossTech Media are thinking about the business of technology all year round. After a talk with CEO Stephen Saber today, I've been thinking a lot about what it means to be part of the larger ITEC or CrossTech Community, and what I hope it might mean to you.
Communities offer a chance to participate. As we've relaunched our webinar series and as I have other smaller online and face to face events planned through the rest of 2008 and into 2009, I'm looking at new ways we can participate in between ITECs, taking advantage of social networking tools, working with you to find like-minded people within our larger community of over 250,000 event participants and newsletter readers, and to facilitate better connections between people who want to meet and do business. (And, if you're not interested in those types of experiences, I'll be sure to give you opportunities to bow out of the community tools, as well.)
You might have noticed some changes over the last few months. We've worked on bringing you more about emerging technology, what we call Second Circle technologies (scroll down for some info about Second Circle on that link). We're sharing more about those technologies that might impact your business in the next several months, and that you need to consider with regards to your existing strategies.
In the spirit of community, I want to be sure that you feel heard and understood. I'm interested in your feedback, on the CrossTech Connect newsletter, on the direction of the content you see in our upcoming ITEC events, about technologies you're hoping get more coverage in our newsletter or at a future event. And more so, do you want to get to better know your fellow ITEC-goers? Would you use a protected social network to make contact and establish business relationships? I'm eager to hear your thoughts on this.
Send email to [email protected], and be sure to look for me at upcoming ITEC events. I'll be at a bunch of them over the coming months, so we can always talk briefly there, too. Thanks for your attention and your time.
