Dig Deep Into the Semantic Web
Chris Brogan
3/1/2008
Looking to better understand how data will work in the coming years? Sir Tim Berners-Lee, who you might remember as the inventor of the World Wide Web, was recently interviewed in a podcast with a leading semantic web company, Talis, in a podcast. In it, Berners-Lee, points out that the value of data is in its freedom to be moved and ported between platforms (in this case, he was talking about social networking information, but we could apply some of this to your enterprise data as well, insofar as it can be used behind the firewall in more than one way).
The interview transcript is loaded with pointers to background data, so if you're looking to get yourself more acquainted with how semantic data and data portability might influence your business, look no further than this interview.
