Amazon's cloud computing business is on track to make more money than its retail business, according to a blog post by Between the Lines, by ZDNet's Larry Dignan. As their web services business offers more and more features, including static IP addresses, user-determined kernels, and now persistent storage space, reasons why NOT to consider a cloud alternative to racking your own servers are dwindling.
If you're still on the fence about whether or not to try Amazon's web services in lieu of buying and supporting more boxes in your data center, I found this success story about Gigavox media, which stood out because I'm friendly with their CEO, Michael Geoghegan.
